One of our favorite nights in Barcelona is coming up! The Night of the Museums will take place on Saturday, May 16th, and it will make you reconsider everything that you have ever thought about visiting museums.
We just love this night. Over 70 museums and cultural centers in Barcelona will open their doors from 7 pm to 1 am, and the entrance is free! Some venues will include live performances, music and special activities. The whole city comes to life and it’s enchanting just to walk around, see the halls of museums filled with people and take the opportunity to see art – from unique exhibitions to masterpieces – from a completely different perspective!
But watch out: people tend to plan on visiting the biggest attractions in town, but this can easily turn into a 2-hour long line. Don’t make the same mistake! Although it sounds smart to use this night to save a couple of euros and go to the Gaudi houses, it’s quite likely that all the tourists in Barcelona will have thought the same thing. Take advantage of the perfect weather and choose an open-air venue! Macba, Recinte Sant Pau or Fundaciò Antoni Tàpies are great choices.
Nit dels Museus + EAT STREET – The evening of Saturday will also be special for foodies: The Eat Street Food Fest Night Market will be on in two different locations: Parc del Fòrum and Plaça de les Glòries. With all types of food and options for vegans and vegetarians, the known street food market will be waiting for visitors with DJ’s, special street food dishes, and the perfect spring vibe. See you there!
