Nestled in the Pyrenees Mountains, just north of Barcelona, are numerous charming medieval villages with stone houses and cafes built directly into the rock of the mountainsides. These Pyrenees villages have been amazingly well preserved and are found in the middle of very privileged hiking and walking routes. Surrounded by lush forests and unbelievable viewpoints, the loudest sounds you will hear on this private adventure are streams, rivers, waterfalls and the occasional sheep, cow, bull or goose.
Upon arrival at the village, you will enjoy a delicious fresh breakfast at an authentic local bakery in the company of your private guide. We’ll duck out of the village for a hike through wooded trails, cliff-top lookouts and spectacular views of deep river canyons and forested valleys. (The hike can and will be totally adjusted to your ability and preference.)
The hike comes to an end midst the cobblestone streets, where we will find one of our favorite restaurants in all Catalonia – time to relax and enjoy a deserved superb three-course lunch, while discussing further the immensely interesting history and culture of the region with your guide.
