About the Tour

The day begins with a visit to a beautiful boutique winery in the renowned Penedès region, about 40 minutes from Barcelona. You’ll enjoy a private tour of the vineyards and production areas, followed by a guided tasting of three wines or cavas, in a relaxed and picturesque setting.

Next, you’ll indulge in a traditional 3-course Catalan lunch at a charming countryside restaurant.

In the afternoon, your guide will take you to explore Montserrat—Catalonia’s most iconic mountain. Legend says that in the 9th century, shepherds discovered the image of the black Madonna in a cave on Montserrat. By the 11th century, the first church and monastery were founded, and by the 12th, the site had become a renowned place of pilgrimage. The current monastery, rebuilt in the 19th and early 20th centuries after destruction by Napoleon’s forces, was heavily influenced by the Catalan Modernist movement—and even Gaudí himself.

At Montserrat, you’ll visit the basilica, see “La Moreneta,” the Black Madonna of Montserrat, and have the option to take a light walk to the Santa Cova—the sacred cave where the image was originally discovered.
