Surreal Cadaqués and All Things Dalí Private Day Trip
From 180€
per person
A complete, fascinating day trip discovering Salvador Dalí’s art and life. Your private expert guide will lead you on an immersive experience through a beautifully designed itinerary of very special sites.
Salvador Dalí is highly regarded as one of the most creative, groundbreaking and inspiring artists of all times. This private day trip is dedicated to diving into his unique mind, learning about his life, understanding and appreciating his distinctive work.
We’ll begin by driving to the northeastern-most point of Spain: the wild and rugged natural park of Cap de Creus, home of the late surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. During the drive, of which the last segment will take us through a scenic mountain road that winds along the coast and down into the village of Cadaqués, your private guide will introduce you to Dalí’s life and Catalonia’s rich history.
The white-washed village of Cadaqués was the town where Salvador Dalí spent most of his adult life, and it is still full of tiny art galleries, boutiques, interesting cafes, restaurants and shops. You can wander the narrow cobblestone streets that are brimming with colorful doors and window shutters, vibrant flowers and incredible views of the Mediterranean.
Once we’ve explored the village a bit, we’ll head to the Dalí House Museum in Port Lligat, which is just a few minutes to the north of Cadaqués. The exploration of the house and garden will take about 80 minutes, and from there we’ll go back to Cadaqués and stop into one of our favorite restaurants for a fantastic traditional Catalan lunch.
From there, we’ll enjoy a short drive to the town of Figueres, which was the birthplace of the artist himself. The most famous landmark in this town is the museum that Dalí created in the 1970’s, where a huge collection of his works are now housed and displayed. Once we arrive, we can take a few minutes to walk around and take photos of the building’s façade, or check out the old church right next to the museum, in which Dalí was baptized and also received his last funeral service. You will then be fully prepared for a magical, personal visit of the Dalí Museum – as the artist wished, everyone should enjoy their own journey.
