Cinema at Montjuic

Barcelona offers an abundance of entertainment and fun throughout the entire year but one of our favorites is undoubtedly the summer cinemas. These outdoor cinemas can make for a great family outing or a romantic date. No matter what the occasion, you can’t go wrong with a movie in the beautiful city of Barcelona! There are multiple outdoor cinema festivals in Barcelona throughout the summer. Each offers a variety of films, you are sure to find one you will love!

The Five Cinemas

The first of these festivals is Sala Montjuic. This outdoor cinema is especially fun because a live band performs before the movie begins. Each week is a different artist and a different film at the beautiful Montjuic Castle. Entrance is only 6,50€ for an evening of fun! The movies run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for Sala Montjuic. You can check out the different movies and bands that will be presented at Montjuic this summer here.

The second summer cinema you will love is on Sant Sebastià beach and is called Cinema Lluire-Barceloneta. Swim, watch the sunset and then catch the film on any Thursday or Sunday evening in July or early August. Read up on which of your favorite films are showing for Cinema Lluire-Barceloneta here.

The other three film festivals are located at Fort Pienc Civic Center, the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona, and a city park on upper Diagonal Avenue. All three offer a variety of film genres and low entrance prices. Here is where you can find info on the following:

Espectacles-Centre Civic Fort Pienc

Gandules-CCCB

By the end of the summer, you could catch a film at all 5 locations. Don’t forget to pack chairs, blankets, and snacks! Entertainment is never more than a hop, skip, and a jump away in Barcelona!
