Camp Nou was inaugurated in September 1957 and since then it has been the home stadium of FC Barcelona. Architects Francesc Mitjans Miró and Josep Soteras Mauri designed it with Lorenzo García Barbón and it cost about 288 million pesetas. Today it is the biggest stadium in Europe, 250 meters long and 220 meters wide. Although it was meant to be named “Estadi del FC Barcelona”, people started to call it “Camp Nou”, which means the new ground. So the name was voted and Camp Nou won!

How to get to Camp Nou

Camp Nou is located in the east of Barcelona, about 5 kilometers from Barcelona’s historic city center. It is very easy to reach by metro. If you have the opportunity to go watch a match, take it! You can buy tickets online, through the official website or Ticketmaster, at the ticket booths of Camp Nou, or through any of the other sales outlets. Ticket prices depend on the opponent and the seats. It can be something between 50€-200€. The most expensive tickets are usually the ones with El clasico and the later stage Champions League games.

The Camp Nou Experience is a self-guided tour, which includes a walk through the stadium with an audio guide and access to the Barcelona museum. For two hours, you can take a closer look at the most exclusive corners of Camp Nou. In the museum, you can find photos and videos, trophies and memorabilia. You can take this tour Monday through Saturday from 9:30 to 19:30 when it’s not a game day. It costs 25€ for adults and 20€ per child.

In the Camp Nou stadium, you can also find the official club store. There are over 3000 articles to choose from, like books, watches, printed shirts, and footwear. The store boasts 2.000 m² of retail space, filled with club merchandise. You can also find four other FCBarcelona Official Store outlets in Barcelona.
